Grade 440C is a high carbon chromium stainless steel, capable of developing high hardness (the highest hardness of the stainless steels) and high mechanical properties using conventional heat treating methods.
Grade 440C exhibits better corrosion resistance in a hardened condition. This grade has excellent resistance to wear and abrasion and it is magnetic in all conditions.
